Wine Appreciation

Status:Active, open to new members

The Wine Group meetings are very sociable events, and the Group is one of the longest running groups in the 25 years since Norton Radstock u3a first commenced.  No special knowledge of wine is expected, although we do have members who are quite knowledgeable about wine. But most of us, whilst we know more than we did, are still very much ordinary wine drinkers.

The Wine Group Christmas meeting was held on 12th December and kindly hosted by Ethne and John.

The meeting was held at Eric’s. Eric had purchased wines from his Wine Club, obtaining exceptionally good discounts. A significant range of wines were available with the Black Stump being the most popular red wine. The Quiz produced by Eric (challenging from a former Headteacher!) proved popular and provided a lot of entertainment. Our thanks to Eric for a wonderful evening.

Our thanks to all members who have hosted Group evenings over the year and to those who have produced the wines and refreshments. Our aim of Learn, Laugh, Live has been fully met by the Group which is probably the longest running group currently in our u3a

There are over 12 members in the group, and we have room for a few more. Please contact Colin Tincknell using the link above.
