We are meeting each Thursday at the Methodist Church Small Hall, High Street, Midsomer Norton at 10.30 until 11.30. Crazy for Uke was pleased to welcome two new players since the summer, one is an experienced player and one is a complete beginner. If you want a New Year’s resolution, why not come and try us out or contact the Group Leader using the link above for more information.
Our players are a mix of original players as well as a few relatively new players who are keen to master a new skill but we would also like to meet some rhythm players to help us along the way and/or just singers. We have some loyal audiences around the area who regularly request a visit from our band. A few of our players are joining in with the Paulton Ukulele Band and using our skills with some challenging "modern" songs that we've never heard of before, but all that extra practice will, I hope, help everyone enjoy their music more. You would be welcome to come and join in for a session before committing to anything! We have a lot of fun and at other times some practise in a small group
Why not make 2025 the year you try the ukulele, come along for a Free session, for a new experience in music. Last year we welcomed three new players who are really doing well and we have a beginner’s session on some Tuesdays at a member's house to help everyone along. We have a spare ukulele to lend to new players if they need one. We are always pleased to welcome new players from u3a ranks and we could really do with some rhythm players to help us all keep to the beat. How are your skills with drums, or maracas or even a tambourine? Singers could also join in if they are keen, perhaps get in touch with us and see what you think we would love to see you.
Our ukulele band has been in demand again this year (2025) and performed at Greenacres, in Midsomer Norton; Age UK clients on polling day and Mondyes Court in Wells. Coming up we will be playing for Manor Farm Care Home in Radstock (our first visit), and once again at the MSN Town Fayre on 12th July morning.
